Produced by A.C.Co of Chicago, Illinois in 1918, this WW1 Model 1917 Bolo would be an excellent item in any collection.
The ricasso is marked on both sides with US MOD 1917 C.T. on one side and A.C.CO CHICAGO 1918 on the other. This bolo knife is unique in that a hole was drilled in the blade guard to allow the locking pin on the scabbard to fit. I believe the scabbard to be the one used by the Model 1910 bolo and looks to have been manufactured by Brauer Brothers even though the stamp is very hard to read. That bolo had a locking system identical to the one used on the Model 1905 Bayonet.
