New Condition Lan-Cay White-Colored M9 Bayonet, Model 1. It's a beauty. I researched this bayonet on the m9m4.com website, Page 39 m9m4.com to verify it is the Type 1. I have also verified that the Fastex date mark on the back of the buckle is September 2000.
According to the letter from Homer M. Brett (Original and Separate word document – Copyright 2022 m9m4.com), these white bayonets, and orange ones were produced and delivered as completed products to both the Army and Marines some time before 2007.
This bayonet is in “New” condition. There may possibly be scabbard marks on the blade from taking the bayonet in and out of the scabbard, but I have not wiped off the original oil used to product it. There is no rust, marks, or frayed material to be found.
According to a conversation that I had with Frank Trzaska about this bayonet, the blade itself is the correct last generation of LanCay production because it has the “LAN-CAY” ricasso mark. The butt plate/bayonet lock also has the “LAN-CAY” mark as does the back side of the scabbard.
