November 2021 – Just a little late this month. Dealing with Long Covid has messed me up, but Sue and I are working to deal with it. We took 5 weekends away from the gun show circuit to give me time to focus completely on getting well. Still a work in progress.

November gives us two days to be thankful for, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.

For the remainder of 2021 we will only be attending Minnesota events, and these are the events we’ll be attending this month. Nov 13^th and 14^th in Faribault and Nov 20^th and 21^st at RiverCentre in St. Paul. The MWCA event will be the first they will be holding since the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Board put the big hit on them and no longer allowed them to use the Education Building and Coliseum for Shows. I realize it does cost for parking, but let’s show the anti-gunners they are not going to close the MWCA by attending this event. As far as I know, there are only three other shows in Minnesota during November, Braham the 26th – 27^th put on by Crocodile Productions, Cloquet also the 26th & 27^th promoted by AC Expos, and Jackson, MN the 27^th and 28^th promoted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Reserve.

Our collection, and selection of Military Surplus, bayonets, fighting knives, and personal fixed and spring assist knives continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Even if Sue and I both worked 50 hours a week inspecting, inventorying, cleaning/protecting, and pricing everything, it would take us into January to do what’s on hand right now.  We are doing what we can to get this inventory ready for sale and as it is ready, we will be bringing it to the shows and adding it to our website papas-toybox.com. We’ve got our work cut out for us, but “Boss Lady” has taken the reins. We will continue to bring new and unique inventory to the shows we attend and make it available to our customers.

·         Nov. 11 – Veterans Day in the U.S.

·         Nov. 11, 1918 – The Armistice between the Allied and Axis powers was signed, silencing the guns on the 11^th hour of the 11^th day of the 11^th month.

·         Nov. 13, 1942 – The five Sullivan brothers from Waterloo, Iowa, were lost in the sinking of the cruiser USS Juneau by a Japanese torpedo off Guadalcanal.

·         Nov. 15, 1864 – During the American Civil War, Union troops under General William T. Sherman burned Atlanta.

·         Nov. 19, 1863 – President Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address during dedication ceremonies dedicating 17 acres of the Gettysburg Battlefield as a National Cemetery. He delivered his speech in less than 2 minutes.

·         Nov. 20, 1789 – New Jersey became the first state to ratify the Bill of Rights.

·         Nov. 20, 1943 – The Battle of Tarawa began in the Pacific during WW2.

·         Nov. 22, 1718 – Blackbeard the pirate was killed off the coast of North Carolina.

·         Nov. 22, 1963 – President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas Texas.

·         Nov. 24, 1863 – The U.S. Civil War Battle of Chattanooga began as General U.S. Grant’s soldiers scaled the heavily fortified Lookout Mountain and overran Confederate General Braxton Bragg’s Army.

·         Nov. 25, 1783 – At the end of the American Revolutionary War, the last British Troops left New York City.

·         Nov. 26, 1789 – The first American holiday occurred, proclaimed by President George Washington to be Thanksgiving Day, a day of prayer and public thanksgiving in gratitude for the successful establishment of the new American republic.

·         Nov. 28, 1943 - The Tehran Conference began, attended by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin.

·         Nov. 30, 1782 – A provisional peace treaty was signed between Great Britain and the United States heralding the end of America’s War of Independence.
